Bedford Researcher - Chp. 4

After reading chapter four, I have a better understanding of how I can compose my research in a highly effective way. It is important to approach resources with a critical, yet open-minded, attitude. Approaching different sources with your writing purpose in mind, you will be able to focus on only the information that is relevant to your paper and minimize the amount of hours spent searching through information. Reading actively is another important part of research, as it maximizes efficiency in reading. Strategies for this kind of research include skimming passages to identify key information, jotting down ideas, positions, and notes, marking the text, and re-reading valuable sources. Asking yourself questions about the type of text your reading helps to understand its meaning and if it is useful for your paper. All of these strategies will certainly help once we start are research!
