Bedford Researcher - Chp. 5

As we gather resources for our paper, it is good to have a broad list of sources in order to obtain a wide understanding of our topics. That said, it is important to evaluate these sources in order to ensure that they are relevant and that the information we gather can contribute to the argument and do not add superfluous details. Chapter 5 lists factors we should evaluate as we choose our main sources, such as relevance, evidence, author, genre, etc. This chapter also explains why we should not judge each source in the same way, as there are many differences in style and purpose that will vary throughout. Gathering as much information as we can is very important, but it is more important that we make sure we are gathering the most useful information from the correct sources.
