Bedford Researcher - Chp. 8

Chapter eight refers to a very real and important issue to note before getting too far into the writing process - plagiarism. Plagiarism is a form of intellectual dishonesty in which a writer, often unintentionally, copies another writer's work. This most often happens as a result of poor note taking, improper citations, or working too fast. Since there are severe consequences even for accidental plagiarism it is important to remember ways to avoid copying information that is not our own. To di this we must first understand what it is and how it happens, note what you already know and what you want to find out, take careful and organized notes, cite sources carefully, and constantly double check your working process.
